About

Welcome to La Chica Organica’s: “Gluten Free Mommy & Me” site.  This site was created to support and offer information to parents and children dealing with Celiac disease and gluten issues.  The idea for Gluten Free Mommy & me came after my sons diagnosis of Celiac disease at age 10.  He is pictured above at just 3 days old.

I am very excited to share my perils and life changes with you as we go through this journey of Celiac disease in our oldest child.  In dealing with this supposed incurable disease; I wanted to dive in nose first so that as we push on through I can encourage and support others going through the same thing.

I often say that God lets us go through tough times so in our suffering and hardship we can bless others.  This site is dedicated to the millions of children and their families that have Celiac disease.  My hope is to bless and equip you so that you can overcome the obstacles, find encouragement, try great recipes, and read the latest research and health articles on the topic so that you won’t feel like you’re the only mom or dad in the world dealing with this.

I also want to provide you with the latest resources for organic gluten free foods as not all gluten free foods are healthy from what I have seen.

You may also want to visit my sister site by clicking here for all you need to know on health & wellness, organic living, herbs, organic recipes, organic herbal products and much more!

Lots of Love

La Chica Organica

And just in case you don’t know: Celiac disease is thought to run in the family. You inherited the tendency to get this disease from your parents. If 1 member of your family has celiac disease, about 1 person out of 10 other members of your family is also likely to have it. You may have this tendency for a while without getting sick. Then something like severe stress, physical injury, infection, childbirth or surgery can “turn on” your celiac disease.
